Biography
Keith A. Jones was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1991 he received a bachelors degree from the University of Oklahoma in Letters -- a liberal arts degree emphasizing history, philosophy, and languages. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1994.
Keith began the practice of law in a small firm located in Gardner, Kansas. In 1996 he returned to Tulsa and went to work for J. Kenton Francy and Associates. Keith spent six years learning family law from Mr. Francy. In 2002 Keith joined the firm of James R. Gotwals and Associates. In 2004 he opened his own firm. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Jones as focused his practice on family law -- divorce, child custody, child support, adoptions, and guardianships.
Since returning to Tulsa in 1996 Keith has been active in the Tulsa County and Oklahoma Family Law Sections. He has served both as chairman -- in the Tulsa County Bar Association in 2002 and the OBA Family Law Section in 2005.
Currently he is serves as co-chair of the editorial board Family Law Practice Manual published by the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Family Law Section. Keith Jones frequently teaches continuing legal education (CLE) classes throughout the state to other lawyers. Topics include: alimony, child support collection, same sex divorce and common law marriage. He has testified twice before state legislative committees on topics related to family law.
